2nd Conference of the EURO Working Group on Sustainable Supply Chains

Sustainable Supply Chains and the Circular Economy

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, July 6 – 7, 2018 (leading up to the annual EURO conference)

We have the great pleasure of inviting you to take part in the 2nd Conference on Sustainable Supply Chains (SustSC 2018) to be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, July 6 & 7, 2018. SustSC 2018 is organized by the EURO Working Group on Sustainable Supply Chains in cooperation with the Operations Research and Logistics group at Wageningen University and sponsored by the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO). The purpose of the SustSC 2018 Conference is to offer the European and international sustainable supply chain community (researchers and practitioners) the opportunity to present state-of-the-art developments and to discuss current research challenges.

Conference scope: We invite contributions on sustainable supply chains from disciplines such as operations research, logistics, and industrial engineering. We especially welcome submissions that contribute to the transition to a circular economy, but broader sustainable supply chain issues will not be excluded from consideration.

Keynotes:

  • “How sustainable is Big Data in supply chains?”, Charles Corbett, Professor of Operations Management and Sustainability & IBM Chair in Management, UCLA Anderson School of Management, USA
  • “Sustainable city logistics”, presentation by Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS).

Abstracts: Abstracts for presentations can be submitted until May 1, 2018 to sustsc.orl@wur.nl (preferably using the provided abstract template). The abstracts should be max. 250 words and will be collected in a Book of Abstracts for the conference participants.

  • Early Bird registration deadline: May 22, 2018
  • Conference registration deadline: June 12, 2018

Travel information: For people combining their travel with a visit to the EURO 2018 conference in Valencia, note that there are direct flight connections with Transavia, Vueling or KLM from Amsterdam to Valencia. For travel planning, note that the Saturday part of the conference will end around lunch time.
